Sometimes we forget that our lives are not the only thing that matters. Our fellow humans each have a vast array of stories to tell. One day there was a young boy who was playing close to the water’s edge, and as he leaned over, he saw his reflection smiling back at him. He watched the water ripples make his mouth appear strange, and he giggled as he bent over the river bank even further. People in society tend to listen long enough to each other, in order to induce their own response. How often have you truly sat and listened to someone speak during a one-on-one conversation?
