When Caregivers Are Giving It Their All... Do We Hear Them?

Hurt is something that can tarnish even the deepest parts of our being.

Slinging negatives only causes emotional exhaustion
and does not repair the issue at hand.

Human relationships are torn between trying to be true to your heart, and making amends to other's feelings and needs.  It seems to be a fine line to walk, when trying to please both sides of the equation.

Trying to find balance amidst the things you want to do, and the things you must do, can be tiresome to tread among the responsibilities of life.  Our careers, relationships, children, and interests can be vastly overwhelming when trying to make the choices that benefit all parties.

Sometimes, it is wise for caregivers to make their needs a priority, or they will lose the passion of helping those who require their assistance.  Without assisting them in taking the time needed to replenish their own wants and desires, they will fall accustom to only looking after the broad spectrum of hands that are outstretched for help.  It can no longer be healthy to accept the fact that one person is capable of handling multiple people's needs without some detriment to their own well-being.

There comes a time, when need must be given to the caregiver themselves, to save from frustration caused by burn-out.  It is not at their root core, to leave others to their own accord, so it is helpful to try to work this out in better ways.  Allowing the person to retreat into their own private time, or reprieve is crucial, as they need time to let the cares of the world fade away for a temporary period.

It is necessary for others to pick up the slack during these short sabbaticals, so the caregiver can find ways to heal the stress they are feeling.  Upon return, they will commit to their duties with a renewed sense of personal power.

If you are not caring for others in some way, you may not understand the importance of your role, or the need for your participation.

The easiest way to find out when and where you are needed, is to simply ask.
