The 3 Rules for Changing Patterns in Your Unconscious Mind

If you are trying to re-program the negative patterns that you hold in your unconscious mind, you can begin by using affirmations.  If you are looking to improve your life in any area, or remove limiting beliefs that stop you from achieving your desires, you can look to affirmations for assistance. 

Many times, we have old programs that are at the root cause of many unhealthy behaviors that we find ourselves entrenched by. 

Affirmations can be beneficial by helping you to reprogram your thought patterns, in order to be accepting of new beliefs and instill new habits.  Over a period of time, you can rewrite your story to believe in a new set of aspects pertaining to the way you see yourself.

There are three things you must do, in order to be successful in the use of affirmations:


1. Determine What You Want

- In order to use affirmations, you must know what you are striving for. 

2. Choose Words That Are Positive

- Affirmations must include phrases that are positive. You do not want to express the things you don't want, so reword your affirmation so that it explicitly reflects the things you want to achieve. 

For example, an affirmation will not work if it is worded in a negative stance. 

Rather than saying, "I no longer want to work at ___________," 

... You must reword it into a positive reflection of what you want, such as, 

"I love working at ________________ , as it makes me happy." 

3. State in the Present Tense

- Your affirmations should always be stated as if they have already happened.  When your unconscious mind hears affirmations, it will interpret that you are living this life right now.

Affirmations are a great stepping stone when trying to work on personal development aspects and goals.  They assist your mind into accepting new possibilities that will propel you into a brighter future.  When used consistently over a period of weeks or months, they begin to allow new ideas to rewrite your current brain patterns, into something more productive.
