Many people are stepping on the scale and the number crawls to a height
they are not prepared to acknowledge.
Why is it that the pounds have crept on, and we were oblivious to it happening?
... Perhaps, we did recognize the fact that our jeans were a little tighter, and our shirts a tad snugger but we pushed our bodies into our old clothes and continued on our regular routines, trying not to think about the bulge seeping out from our mid-lines.
It isn't until there are some pairs of clothing that are tossed aside, as a loss cause of getting that zipper up, or the last button, buttoned that we begin to realize we can't hide the fact that we've put on weight. It is at this time that we go searching for the newest fad diet, or magic pill to pull us from our neglectful ways, but this isn't the time for illusions.
When we get to this point of realization that perhaps we weren't tending to our bodies the way nature intended for us to act, we need to take a long hard look at what we've been doing. We need to ask ourselves, "How did I get to where I am today?", "What I am currently feeling about myself?", "What circumstances am I facing lately that has me feeling less than satisfied?"
Once we discover the answer to these internal questions, we are able to determine our personal role in getting to where we are now. The internal world of our mind begins to spill over into the external being who is us. If we are depressed, or have a low opinion of ourselves, our bodies begin to reflect the state of our mind and desecration can permeate the essence of our bodies as an outside reflection.
When faced with issues of excess weight, it is a good idea to evaluate your own inner mind and tend to that garden before thinking that a new fad is magically going to expel your weight and all will be returned to bliss.
When dealing with weight issues, take a look at what is happening in your own thoughts and it will give you a good indication of the condition of the foundation that you are working with.
Start with your thoughts, and then begin on a path of healthier eating, and moderate activity, and you will begin to realign your mind and body to its ideal state.
